  1. This is intrigueing as I keep asking myself "what the...." The object on the left is fun folk art and seems round at the bottom and flat on the top. The cartoon like figure on the right is fun in a whimsical way. All this seems to be located on a white wall burned out in the sun. What I can't figure out is what unifies the image. If the object was to draw in and puzzle the viewer it is working well.

  2. HI JON: THIS IS A SHOT OF A SHOP DOORWAY IN (I THINK) SAN JOSE, MEX. THE FOLK ART IS A CLOTH HANGING OF SOME KIND AND THE FIMALE FIGURE IS A MANIKIN STANDING IN THE DOORWAY. I LIKED THE PICTURE BECAUSE OF ITS ENIGMATIC NATURE -- IT IS A LOT LIKE MEXICO: CONCRETENESS, INCOHERENCE, AND BEAUTY. LOUIS N.

  3. Agreed completely!! You have it exactly. It communicates a bit of the mystery of the hispanic culture--something that is almost always missed, misunderstood or just put down in these parts.
