I like this a lot, Jon. Sharp focus on the flower bud, soft focus behind and surrounding the bud, soothing green color. I know some of the Shutters sniff when lens questions are asked, but please indulge me ... did you use a macro lens?
This was done with a normal prime (non-zoom) lens, not macro. Sunflowers are big, so I didn't have to get too close. I am a big fan of prime lenses as they have less optical problems than zooms.
