These are made from the same negative. The brownish one was printed using the Palladium method. The black one is printed on traditional silver photographic paper.
I wasn't attempting to make two identical copies, rather I went where the printing process lead me. Silver lead me to printing down. Palladium lead me to the mid tones.
The palladium wins! All things being equal , of course. Great shadow detail.
